Dan Fischel joined Northwestern Law’s faculty in spring 2006. He was formerly the Lee and Brena Freeman Professor of Law and Business at the University of Chicago. He was formerly a member of the Northwestern Law faculty from 1980 to 1984. Prior to that he clerked for Thomas E. Fairchild, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and then for Justice Potter Stewart of the U.S. Supreme Court. Professor Fischel received an MA in American history from Brown University and holds a law degree from the University of Chicago. His chief interests include corporations, corporate finance, and the regulation of financial markets. He is the author of numerous articles in these fields.
