Professor Ayotte joined the Northwestern Law faculty in 2007. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Columbia Business School, receiving the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2005. His research interests are in bankruptcy, corporate finance, and the economics of property law and legal entities. His current research projects include an empirical investigation into the impact of creditor control on Chapter 11 outcomes, and a theoretical investigation of optimal legal rules regarding property rights.
